| And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; | Wir bitten aber euch, liebe Brüder, erkennet an, die an euch arbeiten und euch vorstehen in dem Herrn und euch vermahnen; | rogamus autem vos fratres ut noveritis eos qui laborant inter vos et praesunt vobis in Domino et monent vos |
| And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves. | habt sie besonders lieb um ihres Werkes willen. Haltet Frieden untereinander. | ut habeatis illos abundantius in caritate propter opus illorum pacem habete cum eis |
| Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. | Wir ermahnen aber euch, liebe Brüder: vermahnet die Unordentlichen, tröstet die Kleinmütigen, traget die Schwachen, seid geduldig gegen jedermann. | rogamus autem vos fratres corripite inquietos consolamini pusillianimes suscipite infirmos patientes estote ad omnes |
| See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. | Sehet zu, daß keiner Böses mit Bösem vergelte, sondern jaget allezeit dem Guten nach untereinander und gegen jedermann. | videte ne quis malum pro malo alicui reddat sed semper quod bonum est sectamini et in invicem et in omnes |

| Quench not the Spirit. | Den Geist dämpfet nicht. | Spiritum nolite extinguere |
| Despise not prophesyings. | Weissagungen verachtet nicht. | prophetias nolite spernere |
| Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. | Prüfet aber alles, und das Gute behaltet. | omnia autem probate quod bonum est tenete |
| Abstain from all appearance of evil. | Meidet das Böse in jeder Gestalt. | ab omni specie mala abstinete vos |
| And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. | Er aber, der Gott des Friedens, heilige euch durch und durch, und euer Geist ganz samt Seele und Leib müsse bewahrt werden unversehrt, unsträflich auf die Ankunft unsers Herrn Jesus Christus. | ipse autem Deus pacis sanctificet vos per omnia et integer spiritus vester et anima et corpus sine querella in adventu Domini nostri Iesu Christi servetur |

| I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren. | Ich beschwöre euch bei dem Herrn, daß ihr diesen Brief lesen lasset vor allen Brüdern. | adiuro vos per Dominum ut legatur epistula omnibus sanctis fratribus |
